Francisco G. Torres-Melendez was arrested on May 3 by the Seneca Police Department (PD) for the alleged offense of driving under the influence and driving without a valid driver’s license. He was released to the custody of Immigration and Customs Enforcement on May 6.
John L. Dale was released on May 6 on $250 cash bond for the drug offenses and $500 cash bond for the house arrest violations. Court has been set for May 8 at 10:45 a.m.
Devin T. Hall was released to the custody of the Kansas Department of Corrections on May 6.
Matthew Davis, 18, of Seneca was booked into the Nemaha County Jail on May 9 on a Nemaha County warrant for burglary. Davis remains in custody. Bond is set at $10,000 cash/surety.
At 11:30 a.m. Friday, May 3, John J. Haverkamp, 83, of Seneca was traveling westbound on U.S. Highway 36, just west of D Road, and failed to stop at the railroad crossing — striking the crossarm. He was driving a 2009 GMC pickup. Damage was listed as more than $1,000.
At 7:30 p.m. Saturday, May 4, Nathan Haufler, 18, of Seneca was traveling eastbound on 144th Road, 0.2 mile west of O Road, when he blew a tire — causing him to lose control of his vehicle and strike a concrete bridge railing. Haufler was driving a 1989 Jeep Wrangler. Damage was listed as more than $1,000.
At 12:05 a.m. Sunday, May 12, Linda Luster, 66, of Dallas, Texas, was traveling southbound on U.S. Highway 75, 0.25 mile south of 240th Road, when she struck a deer. Luster was driving a 2019 Volkswagen Atlas. Damage was listed as more than $1,000.
