Bravos fall to Midwest A’s

The Sabetha Bravos took on the Midwest A’s in a doubleheader on Saturday, July 6, in Belton, Mo. The Bravos wouldn’t make good on any of their hits during the two games, and the A’s would claim both wins.

Game one

Both teams fought hard throughout the first four innings, holding each other scoreless, but the A’s would be the first ones to get on the board in the fifth inning with five runs scored. They would extend their lead in the sixth by one run, and after seven innings of play they would claim the 6-0 win.

Cesar Paz and Vinicio Samayoa each collected one hit each, while Anderson Oropeza went two for two during the game.

Jose Marroquin started on the mound for the Bravos, throwing the first 4-2/3 innings. He allowed five runs on 10 hits.

Jonathan DeLeon finished on the mound for Sabetha, pitching the final 2-1/3 innings. He allowed one run on two hits, while striking out six batters and walking three.

Game two

The A’s started the second game off strong with three runs scored in the first innings. They continued to add onto the score with two runs scored in the second and third innings, and another scored in the first. The A’s defense held Sabetha scoreless throughout the game, and they would take the 8-0 win in the nightcap.

Oropeza tallied two hits again in the second game, while Michael Rodriguez, Welinton Perez and Brandon Brewer each collected one.

Daisuke Yasui threw the entire game for the Bravos. He allowed eight runs on 13 hits, while striking out one batter.
