Taco’s BBQ and Bikes to be held October 19
Get your motorcycles and your barbecue taste buds ready for the fourth annual Taco’s BBQ and Bikes. The event will be held Saturday, Oct. 19, at the Mary Cotton Public Library Park — rain or shine.
The event, sponsored by Taco’s Boys BBQ, features a barbecue contest and motorcycle contest. A barbecue meal provided by Taco’s Boys BBQ will be served from 4 to 7 p.m. The meal is a free will donation, and everyone is welcome until the “food runs out.”
Teams will pay a $50 entry fee for three categories: chicken, ribs and pork butt. Teams are responsible for providing their own meat.
Barbecue judging will begin at noon. Awards will be given for the top five winnings in each barbecue category, as well as for the top three overall winners.
The dessert contest is in its second year. A $5 entry fee is required.
Dessert contest winner takes all.

Taco’s Boys BBQ
Taco’s Boys BBQ is comprised of brothers Corey, Jason and Brad Meyer and their families. The barbecue team took over the event from the Sabetha Chamber of Commerce in an effort to continue a community event for “making memories with family and friends” — the event’s slogan.
