“‘Twas the night after Thanksgiving and all through the town, all the people were gathered, not one wore a frown. The lights were all hung on the poles with much care, knowing that Saint Nicholas soon would be there…”
At 6 p.m. Friday, Nov. 29, Santa and Mrs. Claus will be making their debut appearance in downtown Seneca to kick off the holiday season. They will arrive in their horse-drawn carriage and take a ride down Seneca’s historic brick Main Street when the Christmas lights are turned on for the first time this season.
Mr. and Mrs. Claus will be at Seneca City Hall, located at 531 Main Street, to meet with children and take pictures until 8 p.m. Each child who visits with the Claus’ will be given a goody bag provided by the Life Care Center of Seneca.
Additionally, many of Seneca’s downtown businesses will be open for late night shopping until 8 p.m. Seneca United Bank and Trust will be serving hot chocolate and popcorn.
On Saturday, Nov. 30, come join us again in celebrating Small Business Saturday to support local businesses by “shopping small.” Stores will be open and presenting plenty of great options for holiday gifting and decorating.
These events are sponsored by the Seneca Area Chamber and Downtown Impact, and are co-sponsored by Seneca Travel and Tourism. We hope to see you there!
