Sabetha City Commission 12.23.2019

The Sabetha City Commission met at 6 p.m. Monday, Dec. 23, at Sabetha City Hall. Present for the meeting were Mayor Doug Clark, Commissioners Norm Schmitt, Nick Aberle, Maridel Wittmer and Julie Burenheide, City Administrator Doug Allen, Assistant City Administrator Bill Shroyer and City Clerk Steve Compo. Guest Bob Ruddick also was present.

Wittmer asked how Sixth Street was coming, and Allen reported that the road was opened up on Monday, Dec. 23.

The board also discussed road work happening on Old Highway 75. Allen reported that a ditch was being filled in.

Schmitt said he appreciated all the houses that have come down through the City’s House Demolition Assistance Program, which expired Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2019. Allen said that 10 houses came down within a six-month period. The board discussed starting the program up again when the weather warms up.

Also at the meeting:

The commission approved the minutes from the Monday, Dec. 9, meeting.

The board approved the mayor’s signature on documents for administrative services for the City of Sabetha’s State revolving loan application.
