On Dec. 4, the Sabetha Police Department (SPD) responded to a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of Oregon and Washington. Seth Harrell was operating a 2014 Chevrolet and was turning south onto Washington Street when he struck a 2012 Ford that was driven by Riley Lierz. No injuries were reported at the time of the accident, and both drivers were said to have been wearing their seatbelts. Damage is estimated at more than $1,000.
On Dec. 7, the SPD responded to a one-vehicle accident at the intersection of Old Highway 75 and 192nd Road. A 1999 Buick being operated by Kirk Keeler had a vehicle malfunction and went through the intersection, coming to a stop in the field. No injuries were reported and damage costs as a result of the accident are unknown, but the vehicle had to be towed away do to the prior malfunction.
On Dec. 4, the SPD arrested Seth Harrell, 20, of Sabetha on a Brown County district warrant.
On Dec. 5, the SPD took a report of possible past criminal trespass. The report is under investigation.
On Dec. 9, the SPD took a report of a theft that occurred in the 500 block of Main.
On Dec. 12, the SPD arrested Ronald Brooks Jr., 38, of Sabetha for criminal trespass and possession of a controlled substance. Brooks was transported and booked into the Nemaha County Jail.
On Dec. 12, the SPD arrested Jacob Clary, 32, for domestic battery. Clary was transported and booked into the Nemaha County Jail.
On Dec. 18, the SPD took a report of theft in the 1400 block of Oregon. A suspect has been located in the case, and charges are pending as a result of the investigation.
On Dec. 21, the SPD arrested Chad Hill, 44, of Sabetha for driving under the influence of alcohol. Hill was transported and booked into the Nemaha County Jail.
On Dec. 26, the SPD arrested Joshua Tackett, 22, of Sabetha for driving while suspended. Tackett was transported and booked into the Nemaha County Jail.
