Janice Creamer, 55, of Bern was released on Jan. 17 on a $2,500 surety bond. Court is set for Feb. 18 at 9:30 a.m.

Cullen McGraw, 28, of Sabetha was arrested by the Nemaha County Sheriff’s Office (NMSO) on Jan. 18 on charges of driving without a license and no insurance. McGraw was released on a $1,000 bond on Jan. 22 with a court date of Feb. 18 at 10:15 a.m.

Crash Reports

At 8:22 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 11, Steven C. Compton, 71, of Hiawatha was traveling eastbound on U.S. Highway 36, approximately 1/2 mile east of D Road, and struck a cow in the roadway. She was driving a 2015 Chevrolet Equinox. Damage was estimated at more than $1,000.

At 2:05 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 12, Sara Read, 27, of Salina was traveling eastbound on U.S. Highway 36 at the intersection of U Road when she was struck by David Mauersberger, 42, of Emporia. Read was driving a 2018 Kia Sportage. Mauersberger was driving a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado. One passenger was transported to Sabetha Community Hospital with injuries.

At 9:54 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 18, Jason M. Daharsh, 32, of Seneca was traveling southbound on H Road just north of 104th Road when he lost control on the icy roadway, left the road and overturned. EMS was on scene, but did not transport. Daharsh was driving a 2007 Chevrolet pickup. Damage was estimated at more than $1,000.

At 11:19 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 18, Gregory V. Schmitz, 62, of Axtell was traveling southbound on C Road when he lost control on the icy roadway, left the road and overturned. He was driving a 2011 Dodge pickup. Damage was estimated at more than $1,000.

At 12:35 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 19, Jordan R. Bodnar, 26, of Topeka was traveling northbound on W Road, 1/4 mile north of 160th Road, when he lost control on the icy roadway, left the roadway and rolled over. He was driving a 2010 Chevrolet van. Damage was estimated at more than $1,000.

At 7:30 a.m. Monday, Jan. 20, Melissa L. Love, 24, of Seneca was traveling northbound on W Road at 168th Road when she lost control on the icy roadway, left the roadway and overturned. She was driving a 2004 Chevrolet Trailblazer. Damage was estimated at more than $1,000.

At 12:16 p.m. Monday, Jan. 20, Debra A. Potter, 48, of Wetmore was traveling northbound on W Road, 1/2 mile north of 144th Road, when she lost control on the icy roadway and rolled over. Potter and two minor occupants were treated and cleared by EMS. She was driving a 2004 Toyota Tacoma. Damage was estimated at more than $1,000.

At 11:39 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 21, Jay M. Gibbs, 37, of Centralia was traveling westbound on Kansas Highway 9, approximately 1/2 mile west of C Road, when he struck a deer. He was driving a 2005 GMC pickup. Damage was estimated at more than $1,000.
