Club News: Sabetha Christian Women 2.11.20
Submitted by Penny States
On Tuesday, Feb. 11, the Sabetha Christian Women’s Club met at Buzz Steak House in Sabetha with 21 in attendance.
We were blessed immensely by a music feature made up with Philip, Sarah and Maggie Anson, as they sang several songs to prelude their father Judge Scott Anson, who spoke for us as our special speaker.
Scott shared his personal testimony as to “When God Is In It,” relating to how he became Nemaha County Judge. He shared his faith and how he looks to God in all he does as father and judge of our county. He spoke about how he respects the legal system, is open-minded about the cases he presides over, remembers to use kindness and understanding in his carrying out of that justice, is patient through elections and uses common sense in his verdicts as well. He said he realizes the supreme authority and power are in Jesus Christ.
These are great goals for all of us to live by. All were blessed with the Anson family, all being thankful we have such an outstanding man acting as judge of Nemaha County.
Our next meeting will be held at 9 a.m. Tuesday, March 10, at the Buzz Steak House in Sabetha. The theme will be “Riding Out the Storm.” The speaker will be Andy Smith of Sabetha with his message, “In a Boat on Galilee.” Our feature will be Penny States sharing information on the Stonecroft Bible Studies.
Cost is $8.25. For a reservation, contact Marcia Adams at 785-284-2299 by Thursday, March 5. All reservations must be canceled 48 hours prior or payment is expected.
