The Morrill Tip-Top 4-H Club met on Monday, Jan. 27, at the Morrill Community Building. The meeting was called to order at 7 p.m. by President Amber Menold. Caden McNerney led the club in the Pledge of Allegiance and the 4-H Pledge.
For roll call, members answered with their New Year’s resolutions. Secretary Kate Beyer read the minutes of last month’s meeting. The club sang “Happy Birthday” to the 4-Hers with winter birthdays: Logan McNerney, Logan Ploeger and Elsie Ploeger.
Treasurer Logan Ploeger gave the Treasurer’s report. In Community Service reports, Emmie Grimm announced that the club had made hats and cards for a community service project in December.
For the Leader’s Report, Jennifer Ploeger announced that the Spotlight Auction will be held March 9-10, and County Club Day is Feb. 29 at Hiawatha High School. In new business, the club decided to participate in a model meeting at County Club Day.
For this month’s program, Grimm gave a Par-Law lesson on the use of the gavel, L. McNerney gave a talk on how to use a sander, Bristol Menold demonstrated how to make colorful geodes, A. Menold read a book, and Dylan McNerney gave a talk on carving wood.
After the meeting was adjourned, the club recited the 4-H motto, “To make the best better.”
