Fence removed at Fourth Street Park

The fence around the baseball and softball diamond at the Fourth Street Park has been torn down. According to the City of Sabetha’s Recreation Director Jeremy Haverkamp, the fence was not in very good shape. “We do not hold games there anymore and only use the field for softball and baseball practices, which we will continue to do, so I did not feel like it was essential to have the fence,” Haverkamp said. “It is a large fence to keep maintained for mowing and weed eating during the growing season, and I felt like this would alleviate some of that along with opening up a large, nice space to the park for people to use.”
