Bravos split with Brigade

The Sabetha Bravos traveled to Junction City on Thursday and Saturday, June 10 and 12, to take on the Brigade. Junction City would take home the win in game one, while Sabetha would take the win in game two, after 10 innings of play.

Game one

The Brigade took the quick lead in game one with five runs scored in the first inning. They continued to extend their lead by scoring one run in the second and third innings. The Bravos finally got on the board in the fourth inning with four runs. Scoring was slow for the remainder of the game and Junction City would eventually take the 8-6 win.

Jeremy Williams, Alejandro Pina and Angle Andrade led the Bravos at the plate, with six hits collected and four run scored between them.

Rodrido Pena threw the first inning for the Bravos. He allowed six runs on three hits, while striking out one batter and walking four.

Juan Benjamin pitched the next five. He allowed one run on two hits, while striking out five batters and walking four.

Benjamin was relieved by Alexander Garcia, who pitched the final two. He allowed one run on two hits, while striking out four batters and walking four.

Game two

Sabetha scored first with one run in the first inning. The game saw little action until the final inning, when Junction City scored their first run of the game, which sent the game into extra innings. However, Sabetha scored an additional run in the 10th inning to win, 2-1.

Orlando Lorduy, Wilfredo Aguilar, Takeru Kageyama, Andrade and Ryan Webster each collected one hit each for Sabetha, with Lorduy and Ivan Medina each scoring a run.

Samuel Mendez started on the mound for the Bravos, throwing the first five innings. He allowed two hits and struck out nine batters.

Mendez was relived by Emmanuel Cabrera, who threw the next three innings. He allowed one run on one hit and struck out four batters.

Diego Oquendo came in on relief and threw the next inning. He allowed one hit, while striking out three batters and walking one.

Julian Galindo was the final Bravo to step on the mound. He pitched the final inning and allowed one hit and struck out two batters.
