Bravos defeat Brigade in last game of regular season

The Sabetha Bravos welcomed the Junction City Brigade to town on Tuesday, July 13, for their final regular season game. With the recently Major League Baseball draftee Samuel Mendez on the mound for the first half of the game, the Bravos would take the 6-2 win.

The Bravos got on the board first with two runs scored in the first inning and one run scored in the second. Junction City drove in two runs in the third to close the scoring gap, but Sabetha managed to score another run in the fourth and two more in the seventh to take the 6-2 win.

Wilfredo Aguilar, Isaac Guzman and Alejandro Pina each tallied two hits during the win, and Angle Andrade was the single Bravos player to knock one out of the park in the seventh inning.

Mendez started on the mound for Sabetha. He threw 4-1/3 innings, allowing two runs on one hit, while striking out eight batters and walking one.

Mendez was relieved by Daniel Castillo, who threw the final 4-2/3 innings. He surrendered zero runs on two hits, while striking out six batters and walking four.
