Cardinal harriers compete at Sabetha
The Wetmore High School cross country team traveled to Sabetha on Thursday, Oct. 4, to compete in a cross country meet against multiple teams. The Cardinal boys’ team placed 10th out of 13 teams. The Cardinal girls’ team did not have enough runners to compete as a team.
Boys
There were 90 runners in the boys’ race. Leading the Cardinals was senior Jonathan Hladky-Bailey who placed 14th with a time of 18 minutes, 57 seconds. He was followed by freshman Eric Bloom in 35th place, sophomore Austin Smith in 65th place, freshman Colby Hanzlicek in 79th place, sophomore Zack Cole in 83rd place, and senior Curtis Bloom in 87th place.
Girls
Sophomore Clairissa Bottom finished in 74th place out of 86 runners. Her time was 28 minutes, 11 seconds.
