Submitted by Lori Gottula

The Richardson County Arts and Humanities Council has issued a call for entries for the 2018 regional art competition and exhibition. Selected works will hang in the Stalder Gallery of the Falls City, Neb., Library and Arts Center from Nov. 2 through Dec. 29. An art opening and reception, featuring jurors’ remarks, will be held at 6 p.m. Friday, Nov. 2.

All media will be considered. Entries must be current, original, and created by the person who submits them. The entry fee is $10 for one piece, or $25 for three (limit three). Monetary prizes will be awarded, based on the number of entries.

The rules and regulations are as follows: Standard 2D entries must not exceed 48 inches in either direction. Works that are 3D must not exceed 50 pounds, and the base must not exceed 12 inches in either direction, unless the work is intended for floor presentation.

Art works will be accepted at the library at 1400 Stone Street at the following times: from 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 24; and from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Oct. 27. If neither of those times works for an artist, other arrangements can be made by calling gallery curator Christina Wertenberger at 402-245-6034. All messages left will be returned.

Entry forms are available at the Falls City Library and Arts Center, or by calling Wertenberger at 402-245-6034.

The Richardson County Arts and Humanities Council reserves the right of refusal.
