CLUB: Reavis-Ashley Chapter D.A.R. 10.12.18

Reavis-Ashley Chapter D.A.R. met at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 12, for a tour of Sac-Fox museum in Reserve. After the tour, the group met at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Falls City, Neb., for lunch and the meeting. Hostesses were Beverly Droge and Lola Droge. B. Droge had arranged the tour. Eight members and one guest were present.

Regent Glenda Nelson called the meeting to order with the chapter opening, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance and the American’s Creed. Treasurer Kayce Feldkamp gave the treasurer’s report. Secretary Ann Smith read the September minutes.

K. Feldkamp read the President General’s message thanking chapters who had donated to her project fund. Indian minutes were given by B. Droge. She presented information about the Sac-Fox museum.

Anne Moser read the National Defense report telling of the D.A.R. chapter in Germany that has service projects supporting a regional Medical center and annually marks graves of World War II pilots. Dawn Feldkamp discussed the grave markers for members. This business was tabled. Nelson reported on Constitution week, showing pictures of the display in the Falls City Library, Mary Cotton Public Library in Sabetha, and the Bern Library.

The members gave birthday greeting to L. Droge on her 99th birthday this month.

All members were reminded to vote in the upcoming election.

The next meeting will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 9, at the Gage County Historical Society and Museum in Beatrice, Neb., for a tour. Following the tour, the members will go for lunch and meeting at the home of Ruth Wells in Beatrice.
