Status of Chinese restaurant remains unknown

Herald report

The status of Panda Kitchen in Sabetha remains unknown after it closed its doors in January 2018. Owner Julie Yang cited the reason for the closure as a “lack of proper management.”

The restaurant had opened on Sabetha’s Main Street in September 2016. Yang and her husband Fei also own the original Panda Kitchen in Hesston.

In March 2018, Yang said if new management wasn’t found soon, they would put the building up for sale.

In June of this year, The Sabetha Herald staff made contact with J. Yang to discuss the status of the Chinese restaurant. At that time, J. Yang said there was another couple interested in leasing the building and that she would know more in a few weeks.

Since that time, The Herald has been unsuccessful in reaching J. Yang for an update on the business and building.
