Sabetha places first in Big 7 Quad

On Monday, April 19, both Sabetha varsity and junior varsity golf teams traveled to Hiawatha to play in the Big 7 Quad against Hiawatha and Nemaha Central.


Overall, the Sabetha varsity team received first place with a score of 174. Following was Nemaha Central in second with 191 and Hiawatha in third with 233.

Individually, three Jays placed in the top five. Senior Chad Russell and freshman Cullen Wikle tied for first place with a score of 42, and senior Riley Lierz received fourth place with 44. Senior Caden Lierz and senior Ethan Mitchell tied with 46, and freshman Dalton Rokey scored 54.

Junior Varsity

On the junior varsity team, freshman Cole Grimes received third place with a score of 50. Grimes was followed by junior Griffen Huning with a score of 57. Then, junior JR Streett and sophomore Jacob Garber tied with a score 70, freshman Kellen Wenger scored 71 and freshman Cole Hinton scored 73.
