The Sabetha City Commission met at 6 p.m. Monday, Aug. 9, at Sabetha City Hall. Present for the meeting were Commissioners Maridel Wittmer, Norm Schmitt, Nick Aberle and Julie Burenheide; City Administrator Doug Allen; Assistant City Administrator Bill Shroyer; and City Clerk Steve Compo. Not present was Mayor Doug Clark.
The commissioners approved Ordinance No. 1566, which states that no parking will be allowed on the east side of Sixth Street from the railroad tracks north to Parkview Drive. To see the full ordinance, see next week’s Herald.
The commissioners approved Resolution No. 2021-15 for Nemaha County Emergency Management. Allen explained that approving this resolution makes the City eligible for FEMA funds, if there were ever an emergency.
The commissioners approved the Nemaha County EMS Agreement. Allen said the old EMS agreement was outdated and the approval of this agreement brings everything up-to-date. He informed the commission that everything is the same on this agreement.
The commissioners approved the Kansas Department of Health and Environment Water Loan Agreement. Allen said the agreement is for the revolving loan for the water plant and the new agreement adjusts the City’s payment schedule.
Allen informed the commissioners that during their meeting on Monday, Aug. 23, Keithen Meyer with Schwab Eaton would be present to discuss three proposals for both the Keim and Kellenberger Lift Stations.
