Lady Jays defeat Riverside, fall to Nemaha Central

The Sabetha Lady Jay volleyball team traveled to Riverside Tuesday, Sept. 21, to take on the Nemaha Central Thunder and the Riverside Cyclones. Sabetha ended up falling to Nemaha Central and defeating Riverside.

Head Coach Abby Stueve said this was the first night of play, since they had made changes to the team.

“We switched up Halle Scoby and Aubrey Schmelzle as hitters to try to mitigate errors and serve both in a position they will do their best at and for the team,” Coach Stueve said. “We had some growing pains with this change but overall I think we will begin to see more success in our hitters and execution. We talk a lot about finding the balance between playing to win and executing each ball. At this point in the season, the team has to stop second guessing themselves, the process and each other so we can reap the benefits of all their hard work!”
