Nemaha County Commission 10.13.2021

The Board of Nemaha County Commissioners met in special session on Wednesday, Oct. 13, in the Commissioner’s Room of the Nemaha County Courthouse. The meeting was called to order by Chairman Gary Scoby leading the flag salute. Present also were Commissioners Dylan Keim and Jason Koch and County Clerk Mary Kay Schultejans recording the minutes.

The commissioners agreed to hold a 55-minute executive session to discuss the hiring of non-elected personnel. Present for the executive session was the Board of Commissioners and an applicant for the Nemaha County Health Officer position. The meeting returned to open session with no action taken by the board following the executive session.

The board agreed to hold a 35-minute executive session to discuss the hiring of non-elected personnel. Present for the executive session was the Board of Commissioners. Commissioners asked to extend the executive session for an additional 10-minutes. Commissioners asked to extend the executive session for an additional five minutes. The meeting returned to open session with no action taken by the board following the executive session.

Commissioners agreed to have Scoby make an offer for the permanent Health Officer position.

The next regular meeting was held on Monday, Oct. 18. These minutes were not available at The Herald’s press time.
