Obituary: Rosemary Lentz
Rosemary Kehler Lentz, 95, of North Little Rock, Ark., died on Wednesday, Oct. 27, 2021, after a brief illness. She was born in Wetmore in 1926, the fifth out of eight children, to Leonard and Theresa Penn Kehler.
In 1946, she married Charles L. Lentz of Whiting, Kan., upon his return from the U.S. Army.
During her life, she was a homemaker, small-business owner, volunteer and manager. In the 1940s, she taught school at Bethany. She had a quick wit, loved a good joke and was an excellent cook, supplying her family with homemade breads, pies, cakes, cookies, doughnuts and cinnamon rolls throughout the years. She was a devoted Methodist and a devoted Atlanta Braves fan.
Rosemary was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charles in 1975; her husband, Bernard McAvoy in 1988; and her seven siblings.
She is survived by her four sons, Jim (Michael Ann) Lentz of Spring, Texas, Michael (Kayla) Lentz of Fairhope, Ala., Paul (Chris) Lentz of Tustin, Calif., and Clay (Pam) Lentz of Conway, Ark.; nine grandchildren, Aimee, Emily, Joshua, Charles, Kyle, Will, Ethan, Molly and Katherine; five great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts (fka Arkansas Arts Center). A graveside memorial service will be held in Kansas at a later date.
