Thank God this Thanksgiving

The apostle Paul said in I Thessalonians 5:18, “Give thanks in all circumstances for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”

This week, we celebrate the holiday of Thanksgiving. This day is my favorite secular holiday. But I personally consider it a holiday and holyday.

God has richly blessed my wife Kathie and I. We are definitely blessed by God’s beneficence. This Thanksgiving, we will enjoy a feast around the dinner table with our crowd of family and friends.

God gave to Kathie and I a trio of great children, also a son-in-law and daughter-in-law. We also have been blessed with five wonderful grandchildren.

We moved to Sabetha in 1986. Thus, Sabetha is home to our family.

In my estimation, Sabetha is also home to a number of fine folks. Sabetha is a loving and generous community. People here are always ready to aid and assist others. So many times people will help Kathie and I by opening doors, etc., since we both are dependent on our walkers for balance.

Sabethans are generous and willing to financially assist folks in need. The “Give To Grow” program is a fine example of this. God has truly blessed Sabetha in many ways.

I sincerely hope that you and your family will enjoy a wonderful Thanksgiving, and to reiterate what Paul said, that to thank God is our duty as Christians.

I will close with what Moses told the Jews In Deuteronomy 8:10, “When you have eaten and are satisfied, praise the Lord your God for the good land He has given you.”

May God continue to bless you and your loved ones this Thanksgiving!
