The Woodlawn Meadowlarks 4-H club rang in the new year with a meeting on Saturday, Jan. 8.

Lily Sargent led the club in the flag salute and 4-H pledge. Song leader Jackson Jacobs led the club in singing “Our Land.” The roll call was “what is your favorite thing to do in the snow?” Some members answered with “sledding” and “build a snow fort.”

The minutes were read by Maddie Devore. Colby Stoller gave a treasurer’s report and Keelan Beyer gave a reporter’s report.

Jacobs talked about parliamentary procedure. Ella Sourk gave a project talk about pressed flowers and K. Beyer gave a project talk on basic woodworking tools. Abram Beyer led the club in recreation that was called “pass the present.” The lucky winner opened the present that contained a package of laffy taffy candy. The club members stayed dry inside, while it misted outside and temperatures were below freezing!
