Local athletes compete in 36th Annual Northeast Kansas All Star Games

Multiple local athletes competed in the 36th Annual Northeast Kansas All Star games on Sunday, March 27, in Highland.

Sabetha senior Emily Krebs competes in the 36th Annual Northeast Kansas All Star games on Sunday, March 27, in Highland.

Sabetha senior Emily Krebs competed, as well as Wetmore seniors Kenzie Strathman and Braden Henry.

The day consisted of a boys’ basketball game, a girls’ basketball game and a volleyball game.

Boys’ Basketball

Henry competed on the boys’ gold basketball team, where the team defeated the navy team, 105-83. 

During the win, Henry tallied seven points when he went three-for-three from the field and made one free throw.

Girls’ Basketball

Strathman and Krebs went against each other in the girls’ basketball game, with Strathman competing for the gold team and Krebs playing for the navy team.

The gold team defeated the navy team by a close score of 69-66.

During the game, Strathman scored 10 points by scoring 6 points under the basket, and making four of her five free throws.

Krebs scored 6 points under the basket. She also tallied one steal.

Volleyball

Strathman also played in the volleyball game. According to Highland’s Sports Information Director Jean “Melo” Fernandez, the results of the volleyball game were not available, as statistics were not recorded.
