VFW recognizes Patriot’s Pen essayists

On Wednesday, April 13, Sabetha Memorial Post 7285 of Veterans of Foreign Wars, represented by Patty Locher, Post 7285 Youth Programs Chairwoman, recognizes the 2021 Patriot’s Pen essayists at Sabetha Middle School. Patriot’s Pen is an annual fall essay contest that challenges middle school students to write an essay on a patriotic theme, which changes each year. The top three winners at post level each receive a modest monetary scholarship. Post winners are forwarded to district level, and each district forwards its top winner to state level.
