Bluejays take third at Nemaha Central

On Thursday, April 21, the Sabetha Bluejay golf team traveled to compete in the Nemaha Central Invitational against 11 teams. Those teams included Clay Center, Manhattan Chief, Oskaloosa, Frankfort, Seneca, Holton, Washington County, Wamego, Horton, Maur Hill Academy and St. Marys.

Overall, Sabetha placed third with a score of 348. Wamego placed first overall with a score of 317, Manhattan Chief placed second with 328, Clay Center placed fourth with 357, Seneca placed fifth with 359, Maur Hill Academy placed sixth with 374, Holton placed seventh with 377, Washington County placed eighth with 392, St. Marys placed ninth with 397, Frankfort placed 10th with 431, Horton placed 11th with 448 and Oskaloosa placed 12th with a score of 491.

Leading the Bluejays was sophomore Dalton Rokey tied for ninth place with a score of 82. Following Rokey was senior Matthew Whittaker in 13th place with 84 strokes, sophomore Cullen Wikle in 22nd with 90, sophomore Cole Grimes in 25th with 92, freshman Roman Scoby in 46th with 104 and sophomore Tyler Menold in 53rd place with 116 strokes.

The Bluejays will travel to play against St. Marys at 9 a.m. Thursday, April 28, at the Stagg Hill Golf Club.
