Red Hawks take pair from Jays
The Sabetha Bluejay baseball team traveled to Hiawatha on Thursday, April 28, for doubleheader action with the Red Hawks. The Red Hawks defeated the Jays in both games. The Jays took a 1-0 lead into the fifth inning of the first contest, but gave up four runs in the bottom of the inning and eventually fell, 4-3. Things unraveled in the bottom of the fifth inning for the Jays as the Red Hawks crossed the plate seven times to put the game away.
The Jays were charged with five errors in the game. Sabetha pounded out 11 hits in the contest, but only managed four runs. Junior Josh Herrmann led the attack, going three for three at the plate.
