Larius Cruz, 32, of Holton was arrested on May 5 by the Nemaha County Sheriff’s Office for the offenses of driving under the influence, transporting an open container, and driving without a license and insurance. He was released on May 6 on a $1,925 cash bond with a court date of June 7 at 9:30 a.m.

Robert Hamilton was released by the court on May 9 on probation with time served.

At 9:20 p.m. Monday, May 2, Abby G. Lively, 30, of Brownwood, Texas, was traveling westbound on U.S. Highway 36, approximately 1/2 mile west of O Road, when she struck a deer. She was driving a 2018 Nissan Rogue. More than $1,000 in damage was estimated.
