Sabetha Fire Department Report
At 5:49 p.m. Wednesday, May 18, the Sabetha Fire Department (SFD) was called for a report of a truck on fire at All Star Convenience Store. Upon arrival, the SFD found a 2013 Peterbilt Semi Truck completely engulfed in flames. The SFD extinguished the fire and the cause remains unknown. There was no estimate of damages at the time. The truck was owned by Cordtial Svoboda from Narka, Kan.
At 1:02 p.m. Saturday, May 21, the SFD received a call about a stranded boat on Pony Creek Lake. Upon arrival, the SFD found that a pontoon boat owned by Tanner and Amber Snobner of St. Marys had gotten tangled up in seaweed and had drifted to the southeast cove. The SFD pulled the boat back to the boat dock. The SFD was back at the barn at 2:14 p.m.
