The Sabetha High School girls’ 4×800-meter relay team culminated their outstanding season with a fifth-place finish at the KSHSAA State Track and Field Championships held Friday and Saturday, May 27-28, in Wichita. Members of the relay team were junior Mary Lukert, sophomore Leah Lukert, and freshmen Laura Metzger and Aubrey Schmelzle. The team turned in a time of 10 minutes, 26 seconds in their final race of the season, which earned them a place on the podium.
