Raptors dominate the field against Oskaloosa

The Sabetha Legion Raptors traveled to Oskaloosa Saturday, June 4, for a league match-up. Oskaloosa started out strong, but Sabetha had a late run to take the 14-4 win.

Sabetha got on the board first with one run scored in the first inning, but Oskaloosa got the bats going and scored three runs. Sabetha continued to chip away at the score and tied things up at the bottom of the second. The Raptors made the score 4-3 after three innings and held onto the lead for the remainder of the game. They continued to extend their lead over Oskaloosa by scoring three additional runs in the fourth and seven runs in the seventh to win, 14-4.

Josh Herrmann led the Raptors in hitting, going four for five at the plate, and tallying two runs and three RBIs. Tristan Wittwer also was a dominant force on offense. He went four for five at the plate and tallied two runs and one RBI.

Aiden Lang pitched the first three innings for Sabetha. He allowed four runs on five hits, while striking out three batters and walking three. Jacob Grimm came in on relief in the fourth inning to throw the remainder of the game. He surrendered zero runs on two hits, while striking out four batters and walking two.

The Raptors met up with Auburn, Neb., on Tuesday, June 7. These results were not available at The Herald’s press time.
