Bravos fall to Brigade, 20-10

The Bravos welcomed the Junction City Brigade to town in hopes of adding a win to their record on Monday, June 20. The Brigade came out swinging and never let up. They would win 20-10 after just seven innings.

The Brigade had a huge first inning with nine runs scored. Sabetha managed to score two runs in the first inning. As the game continued, Junction City continued to tack on the runs. They added four runs in the second, two in the fourth, one in the fifth and another four in the seventh. The Brigade pounded out 17 hits compared to the Bravos eight.

Leading the Bravos at the plate were Rommel Perez, Lei Rivero and Enrique Marrero, who each went two for four. Perez tallied two runs, while Rivero and Marrero each tallied two RBIs.

Four Bravos toed the mound during the game. Rafeal Trinidad was the first. He allowed four runs on zero hits in the first inning, and walked four batters. Bryan Luna came on in the first inning and threw the next 1-1/3 innings. He allowed nine runs on seven hits, while striking out one batter and walking five.

Sergio Clemente threw the next five innings. He allowed five runs on eight hits, while striking out five batters and walking two. Mario Franco closed out the game throwing the last 2/3 inning. He allowed two runs on two hits, while striking out one batter and walking one.
