Bravos fall to Midwest A’s on the road

The Bravos hit the highway in a road contest to Belton, Mo., to take on the Midwest A’s on Friday, July 8, but could not find the offensive spark they needed to push past their host. Sabetha managed just four hits and were shutout, 9-0, by the A’s.

The game was scoreless through the first three innings until Midwest split the game wide open in the bottom of the fourth inning, plating 8 runs with six of those being earned runs. Sabetha allowed three hits, a single and two doubles, and walked five and had one hit batsman to put them behind the eight ball, 8-0.

Midwest added a run in the bottom of the sixth inning and came away with the win, 9-0. The Bravos’ Sergio Clemente took the loss, hurling three and two thirds inning, allowing six runs on three hits, marking two strikeouts and five walks. Sabetha sprinkled only four hits throughout the game, but had only one fielding error on the night.
