Kirby Walls, 58, a transient, was arrested on July 25 on two counts of probation violation. Walls remains in custody. Bond for one charge is $5,000 cash/surety. The other bond has been denied.
Shane Smith, 47, of Seneca was arrested on July 26 by the Seneca Police Department (PD) on charges of disorderly conduct and by the Nemaha County Sheriff’s Office (NMSO) on charges of driving under the influence. Smith was released on July 27. Bond for municipal court is $250 cash with court being at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 17. Bond for county charges was $1,000 cash with court being at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 23.
Charles Smith II, 41, of Falls City, Neb., was released on July 30 on a $2,500 surety bond. Court is set for 3 p.m. Aug. 9.
Andrew Tryon, 37, of Sabetha was arrested on Aug. 3 by the Sabetha PD for a Seneca municipal warrant for failure to appear. Tryon remains in custody. Bond is set at $1,000 cash/surety.
Travis Rusche, 39, of Sabetha was arrested by the Nemaha County Sheriff’s Office on Aug. 4 on a Nemaha County warrant for probation violation. Rusche was released on the same day by the court.
Travis Wing, 41, of Seneca was arrested by the Seneca Police Department on Aug. 4 on a Nemaha County warrant for failure to appear. He was released on the same day on a $225 cash bond. Court is set for Sept. 6 at 9:30 a.m.
Andrew Tryon, 37, of Sabetha was released on Aug. 5 on a $1,000 surety bond. Court is set for Aug. 17 at 4 p.m.
At 5:10 a.m. Saturday, July 30, Ryan Henson, 28, of Goff was traveling eastbound on Kansas Highway 9, 0.28 mile east of R Road, when he struck a deer. Henson was driving a 2013 Kia Optima. Damage was more than $1,000 damage.
At 4:15 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 2, Jarod R. Garber, 50, of Bern was traveling northbound on Q Road following a vehicle driven by Oscar Gutierrez-Soto, 45, of Wichita. Gutierrez-Soto slowed to make a turn onto 200th Road and Garber struck the rear of the trailer being pulled by Gutierrez-Soto. Garber was driving a 2002 Ford pickup, and Gutierrez-Soto was driving a 1996 Kenworth tractor and trailer. Damage was estimated at more than $1,000.
On Saturday, July 30, NMSO took a report of a theft of a catalytic converter from a vehicle at 604 North St. in Seneca. Estimated loss was $600.
