Milk production in Kansas during August totaled 347 million pounds, up three percent from August 2021, according to the USDA’s National Agricultural Statistics Service. The average number of milk cows was 174,000 head, 4,000 head more than August 2021. Milk production per cow averaged 1,995 pounds.
