Jason Martens, 43, of Seneca was released to the custody of Thomas County on Sept. 21.

David Remmers, 37, of Topeka was booked into the Nemaha County Jail on Sept. 21 on two Nemaha County warrants for probation violation. Remmers was released on Sept. 21 on a $2,500 surety bond on each of the two warrants. Court is set for 9:30 a.m on Oct. 25.

Steven K. Oliver, 26, of Wichita Falls, Texas, was arrested on Sept. 25 by the Nemaha County Sheriff’s Office (NMSO) on a Wichita County, Texas, warrant for two counts of aggravated assault on a public servant and felony burglary. Oliver remains in custody awaiting extradition.

Incident Responses

NMSO received a report of theft from 110 Jilson Street in Bern. Sometime between 9 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 20, and 6 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 21, an unknown person cut the cable to an internet antennae and removed it from the residence. Approximately $300 was lost.
