Morrill City Council 9.6.2022

The Morrill City Council met in regular session on Tuesday, Sept. 6, with members Griffen Huning, Linda Wymer, Chad Youde, Duane Perry and Gage Becker present. Mayor Ken Beckner presiding. Superintendent Lee Wymer also was present. Visitor present was Christine Heideman.
Minutes and vouchers were approved by the council.
Heideman voiced concerns of traffic in front of her house on Roxanna Street exceeding the speed limit and asked if the city could install a speed bump. Council stated she should install a camera to record the offenders and give the recording to the Sheriff’s Department. Christine then thanked the council and left.
Linda Wymer stated Nathan Huestis is still going to be the code enforcement officer. He has been unavailable, but will resume the enforcement.
After reviewing the hobbyist vehicle ordinance, the council approved Ordinance No. 468.
After reviewing Evergy’s proposal concerning the substation, the council accepted the proposal.
Then, the council decided to purchase transformers for approximately $40,000.
