Morrill City Council 10.03.2022

The council met in regular session on Monday, Oct. 3, with members Linda Wymer, Griffen Huning, Duane Perry, Chad Youde and Gage Becker present. Mayor Ken Beckner presided and Superintendent Lee Wymer was present.

No visitors were present.

The council approved the minutes from their previous meeting at the Nov. 7 regular session.

The council approved the vouchers.

Linda Wymer stated Nathan Huestis intends to resign as code enforcement officer. It was decided to advertise in the newsletter for a person to fill the position.

After discussion, the council decided to talk to the bank about details for funding of the new substation.

It was decided to wait to purchase fuses for the existing substation to allow getting more information on the new substation.

The clerk presented information on a possible grant to repair the curbing on Roxanna St. The commissioners decided to get more information about the grant.

After discussion, it was decided to start sending the minutes to the newspaper for publication.

The council discussed getting more information on the construction of the new substation before ordering transformers. Wymer presented costs of transformers for $40,000 each, and regulators for $9,750 each. Three of each would be needed.

There had been inquiries to have the City create a Facebook page. Linda Wymer stated she would set one up.

Beckner had been contacted by an individual concerning the neighbor burning unsafely. It was mentioned the individual should have called 911.

The next scheduled meeting will be held Monday, Dec. 5.
