Faiqu Nawid, 36, of Sabetha was arrested on Nov. 10 by Nemaha County Sheriff’s Office (NMSO) on a Nemaha County warrant for possession of methamphetamine, possession of a hallucinogenic drug, possession of drug paraphernalia and criminal possession of a firearm. Nawid was released on Nov. 13 on a $25,000 surety bond. Court is set for Dec. 13 at 9:30 a.m.
Crystal Velasquez, 34, of Sabetha was arrested on Nov. 10 by Sabetha Police Department on a Nemaha County warrant for possession of methamphetamine, possession of a hallucinogenic drug and possession of drug paraphernalia. Velasquez was released on Nov. 10 on a $10,000 surety bond. Court is set for Dec. 6 at 9:30 a.m.

At 10:38 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 6, Teresa Stallbaumer, 55, of Sabetha was traveling northbound on Y Road when Edward R. Garber Jr., 73, of Sabetha failed to yield right of way while making a left turn from the southbound lane of Y Road onto 176th Road, causing Stallbaumer’s vehicle to strike the right side of Garber’s vehicle. Stallbaumer was driving a 2004 Lincoln Navigator. Garber was driving a 2003 Cadillac Deville. Garber was transported to Sabetha Community Hospital by Sabetha EMS where he passed away. Stallbaumer was transported to Sabetha Community Hospital by private vehicle. Damage was estimated at more than $1,000.
At 7:01 p.m. Monday, Nov. 7, Mark J. Hertzel, 39, of Sabetha was traveling southbound on X Road, 0.3 mile north of 232nd Road, when he struck a deer. Hertzel was driving a 2016 Ford F150. Damage was estimated at more than $1,000.
At 7:37 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 8, David H. Calderwood, 69, of Seneca was traveling eastbound on U.S. Highway 36, 1/2 mile east of H Road, when he struck a deer. Calderwood was driving a 2017 Chrysler Pacifica. Damage was estimated at more than $1,000.
At 9:42 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 8, Anna M. Segenhagen, 76, of Wetmore was traveling eastbound on Kansas Highway 9, 1/2 mile west of W Road, when she struck a deer. Segenhagen was driving a 2004 Ford F150. Damage was estimated at more than $1,000.
At 5:40 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 9, Alvin L. Heinen, 65, of Formoso was traveling westbound on U.S. Highway 36, 0.3 mile east of O Road, when he struck a deer. Heinen was driving a 2016 GMC Canyon. Damage was estimated at more than $1,000.
At 5:09 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 10, Sharon K. Frey, 53, of Sabetha was traveling westbound on U.S. Highway 36, 0.2 mile east of O Road, when she struck a deer. Frey was driving a 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe. Damage was estimated at more than $1,000.
