Jail Booking/Release

Joshua Hayes, 41, of Topeka was released on Feb. 28 on a $25,000 own recognizance bond. Court is set for March 23 at 9:45 a.m.

Karla Coversup, 43, of Horton was booked into the Nemaha County Jail on Feb. 28 on a Nemaha County warrant for theft of property/services. Coversup remains in custody. Bond is set at $10,000 cash surety.

At 8:14 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 25, Dennis Niehues, 61, of Goff was traveling westbound on 96th Road, 0.15 mile west of S Road, when he struck a deer. Niehues was driving a 2022 Ford F150. Damage was estimated at more than $1,000.
