Committed to Care: an update from Sabetha Community Hospital
The first Annual Community Health Fair can be chalked up as a success! There were 29 informational tables filled with community resources, one delicious food truck and an ambulance that caught the kids’ eyes. In addition to the area businesses and organizations sharing their information, Dr. Streit, Dr. Tramp, Lori Menold, Cynthia Hill and Jenna McClain gave tremendous presentations. We are all taking notes and planning for next year’s Health Fair.
At the end of March, we launched our new website! The website is much easier to read and contains information about Sabetha Family Practice and Nemaha County Home Health & Hospice in addition to Sabetha Community Hospital (SCH). We invite you to take a look – www.sabethahospital.com.
Sabetha Community Hospital has joined the international Walk with a Doc movement! Walk with a Doc inspires communities through movement and conversation. The free walks are open to everyone, and each walk begins with a short educational offering from a medical professional.
Our first walk will be at noon Tuesday, May 9. Dr. Rachel Allen will give a brief talk and then participants will enjoy walking along Main Street. Each month thereafter, we will meet the second Tuesday at noon for the Walk with a Doc program. Take a break in your day or spend part of your lunch hour with us! The event is free for anyone.
This month, Marci Grimm, CNA, is our Employee Spotlight. Marci has worked at SCH since 2020. Marci believes in the importance of treating the patients like family. Marci is truly committed to care!
Currently, our organization is forming a Patient Family Advisory Council. This Council will consist of representatives from the Sabetha Family Practice, SCH, and also patients and/or family members of patients. The overall goal of this council is to improve the patient and family experience. If you are interested in learning more about this council, contact Jennifer Ploeger at SCH.
As we look ahead, the Sabetha Community Hospital’s Annual Golf Tournament will be held on Saturday, June 3, at the Sabetha Golf Club. This year, we are raising funds to purchase a NuStep for the Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehab Programs.
