Abortion survivor to speak in Horton

Submitted by Darlene Rake
The Northeast Kansas Pro-Life Action League will host abortion survivor Melissa Ohden at 3 p.m. Sunday, June 4, at St. Leo’s Catholic Center in Horton.
At age 14, Ohden learned that her loving, adoptive parents had rescued her after she had survived a saline abortion attempt at approximately 31-weeks gestation. According to Ohden’s biography, her biological mother — a 19-year-old college student — was forced by her mother, a prominent nurse in their Iowa community, to have an abortion.
Now a mother of two children, Ohden is the founder and director of The Abortion Survivors Network and of The Abortion Survivors Network Education & Policy Center in Kansas City, Mo.
Ohden is a pro-life speaker and advocate, who often appears on television and radio shows such as Fox News, Focus on the Family, the 700 Club, Life News and others. She is the subject of the award-winning documentary A Voice for Life and is the author of her new book You Carried Me.
The public is invited to attend and hear her compelling story. Attendance is appropriate for seventh-graders through adults. Refreshments will be served.
