County Clerk

The Board of Brown County Commissioners met in regular session on Friday, April 28, with the following members present: Chairman William Pollock and Richard Lehmkuhl. Also present was Brown County Clerk Dawn Boyles. Commissioner Lamar Shoemaker and County Attorney Kevin Hill were present for a portion of the meeting. All recited the Pledge of Allegiance. Commissioner Lehmkuhl led the meeting with a prayer.

Department Reports

Road and Bridge District 3 Road Foreman Rodney Allen discussed the repairs needed to the Peterbilt truck. Allen also discussed an oil leak on the excavator.

Also at the meeting:

Brown County Clerk Boyles requested a 10-minute executive session. The board held a 10-minute executive session on non-elected personnel, with the three commissioners, Hill and Boyles present to discuss personnel matters of non-elected personnel with an executive session necessary to protect privacy interests. No binding action was taken following the executive session.

The board approved the April 24 meeting minutes.

The April 28 claims were approved as follows: General, $105,654.71; Road and Bridge, $26,381.47; Special Machinery, $57,722.74; Historical Society, $4,583.33; Employee Benefit, $71,798.52; Election, $6,242.78; Extension Council, $9,166.66; Mental Health, $7,442.91; Developmental Services, $2,254.33; Capital Improvement, $84,924.15; Appraiser, $811.91; Ambulance, $25,416.65; Noxious Weed, $2,258.23; Diversion, $0; 911 SB 50, $0; ACC, $1,887.22; JJA CORE, $3,571.41; Reinvestment Grant, $84.84; Services for Elderly, $3,135.65; Solid Waste, $66,936.42; and Payroll, $80.09. The total was $480,354.02.

The next regular meeting was held on Monday, May 1. These minutes were not available at The Herald’s press time.
