Free live music coming to downtown Seneca
On Saturday, May 13, the Seneca Area Chamber and Downtown Impact will host their first free live music event for the season. Last year, these second Saturday music events were hosted from April through September. This year, events will be held on the second Saturdays of May, June, August and September. Events will take place in Seneca’s historic downtown “in the shade at 5th and Main,” since a large two-story building will cast shade on the street just north of the intersection at 5th and Main Streets, allowing for a great place for lawn chairs to be set up to enjoy the music.
Upcoming entertainment will be: On Saturday, May 13, Howard Mahan & Friends, a three-piece blues band, will play. On Saturday, June 10, Daniel Christian, who blends pop and rock sensibility with his country and folk roots, will play. On Saturday, Aug. 12, Matthew Francis, a blues and Motown duo, will play. Finally, on Saturday, Sept. 9, John Depew, a Kansas musician who draws from a background of traditional American, will play. All these dates will be played from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. “in the shade at Fifth and Main.”
