Submitted by Tory Jost

The Nemaha County STEP Foundation is excited to announce the new United 4 Youth Scholarship. United 4 Youth provides prevention tools to assist and empower all Nemaha County youth to reduce destructive decisions and encourage physical and mental health by making positive choices. The scholarship is being awarded to a student who is a member of SADD (Students Against Destructive Decisions).

The first recipient of this scholarship is Marcus Heinen son of Ron and Chantel Heinen. He is currently a certified nursing assistant (CNA) who became interested in the medical field because his grandmother was a nurse practitioner. Heinen will attend the University of Kansas to study Human Biology and has goals of getting accepted into a PA or medical school.
