A resurfacing project on U.S. 75 in Jackson and Brown counties was expected to begin May 11, weather permitting. The work covers approximately 26 miles, from Holton to just south of Sabetha.
According to the Kansas Department of Transportation, work will be done in three-mile sections. Traffic will be restricted to one lane and directed by a pilot car and flaggers when work is taking place. Drivers should plan for delays of up to 15 minutes.
Work will take place Monday through Saturday during daylight hours and is expected to be complete by early August.
Bettis Asphalt & Construction Inc., of Topeka, is the contractor on the $9.2 million project.
KDOT urges all motorists to be alert and obey the warning signs when approaching and driving through a highway work zone. To stay aware of highway construction projects across Kansas, go to www.kandrive.org or call 5-1-1.
