Clayton Strahm

Clayton James Strahm, 89, of Sabetha, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 17, 2023, at the Apostolic Christian Home in Sabetha.

Clayton was born on Sept. 13, 1933, on the family farm northwest of Sabetha. He was the third of four children born to Alphia and Lena (Hartter) Strahm. He attended National School in rural Nemaha County. In 1956, Clayton was drafted into the United States Navy, and he served his country in Morocco, Africa, until he was honorably discharged. Clayton was a farmer and stockman who enjoyed all things related to agri-business. He believed in a strong work ethic and instilled the same in his children. Clayton was quick-witted and had a wonderful sense of humor, which made him a favorite among his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He immensely enjoyed joking around with them and they with him!

Clayton was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Alphia; and his grandson, Clay Strahm.

Clayton is survived by his wife, Miriam of Sabetha; his two daughters, Christine (Tim) Moore of Remington, Ind., and Suzann (Doug) Plattner of Sabetha; his three sons, Faron (Jana) Strahm of Sabetha, Brian (Christie) Strahm of Sabetha and Jason (Courtney) Strahm of Edwards, Ill.; his 15 grandchildren; his seven great-grandchildren; his brother, Waymer Strahm of Yountzville, Calif.; and his sister, Arleta (Harold) Waibel of Remington, Ind.
