WHS Track & Field: Kristopher Fulkerson qualifies for State

The Wetmore Cardinals traveled to Rock Hills High School in Mankato for their Regional Track and Field meet with the hopes of qualifying multiple athletes for the prestigious State Track meet in Wichita on Friday and Saturday, May 26 and 27.

Boys

Freshman Kristopher Fulkerson placed fourth in the 3200-meter run, which qualified him for State in this event. He also placed eighth in 1600-meter run.

Senior Kyler Wommack placed 14th in the javelin with a throw of 124 feet, 11.5 inches.

Freshman Gavin Fulkerson placed ninth in the 800-meter run.

Girls

Junior Rylie Nichols placed 15th in the 100-meter dash with a time of 13.88 seconds.

Senior Kaitlyn Claycamp placed 16th in the discus with a throw of 77 feet, 10 inches; 32nd in the javelin with a throw of 63 feet, two inches; and 22nd in the shot put with a throw of 24 feet, 2.5 inches.
