Nicole Lee is sworn in as County Clerk
Nicole Lee was officially sworn in as the new County Clerk during the Aug. 21 Brown County Commission meeting after being administered the oath of office by District Judge John Weingart. This role became vacant on July 17 due to the resignation of the former clerk, Dawn Boyles, whose unexpired term needed to be fulfilled.
In the interim period following the resignation of Boyles, Barb Grabhorn had assumed the responsibilities of the county clerk position.
Lee, previously the payroll clerk, was chosen by the Brown County Republican Precinct Committee on Aug. 4 from among two candidates. Her appointment was then followed by the approval of Governor Laura Kelly.
Lee’s term is set to expire in January 2025 and is slated for election on the November 2024 ballot.
