Sabetha City Commission 11.27.2023

The Sabetha City Commission met at 6 p.m. Monday, Nov. 27, at Sabetha City Hall. Present for the meeting were Mayor Cody Bletscher, Commissioners Norm Schmitt, Nick Aberle, Maridel Wittmer and Julie Burenheide, City Administrator Doug Allen, Assistant City Administrator Bill Shroyer, and City Clerk Steve Compo. Guests present were Jason Enneking and Megan Bunck.

Bletscher opened the public hearing for Resolution 2023-24 for code violations for 520 S Seventh Street. Wittmer motioned to approve Resolution 2023-24. The motion died due to the lack of a second. Therefore, the city will not abate the code violations on the property.

The commissioners approved the minutes from the Nov. 13 meeting and the Christmas Holiday Schedule as follows: Monday, Dec. 25, and Tuesday, Dec. 26, for Christmas and Monday, Jan. 1st, and Tuesday, Jan. 2nd.

The commissioners canceled the commission meeting scheduled for Monday, Dec. 25.

Wittmer asked about the status of the speed radar signs which had been presented by Nick Scott during the Monday, Oct. 23, meeting. Allen said they are still working on gathering information and will discuss it at the next meeting.

The commissioners will meet again at 6 p.m. Monday, Dec. 11, at Sabetha City Hall.
